If you think you hate Cranberry Sauce because you’ve only had it from the can, make this one and see what you’ve been missing!

Cranberry Sauce is one of the most underrated sides for Holiday dinners that I can think of. And it’s understandable since most people just get a can and plop it onto a plate and call it a day! Well with a tiny bit of effort, we can make something that can shine on it’s own and compliment all the savory stuff on our plates!

why you’ll dig cranberry sauce

It’s ridiculously easy, and delicious! And like most sides, you can tailor it to your tastes. I love adding a little garam masala, and a bunch of pumpkin spice. You can totally make this a day or so ahead of time.

This stuff is perfect to pair with some Mashed Potatoes, a Vegan Roast Turkey, or a Shepherd’s Pie!

Also we can’t forget about leftovers! This cranberry sauce is perfect for some Stuffing Balls, a Stuffing Waffle, or to make a Moist Maker!

ingredients for cranberry sauce

  • Cranberries – shocking I know!
  • Apple Cider – not the sparkling stuff! Just regular apple cider / juice. You can also use orange juice instead.
  • Sugar and Spice – I like using a combo of white sugar and maple syrup. As well as some pumpkin spice and garam masala.
  • Booze – Totally optional, but I like to add a tablespoon or so of rum or brandy.

how to make cranberry sauce

This couldn’t be easier! Simply combine everything in a saucepan over medium heat and cook until all the berries burst!

You can help them burst by pressing them with a wooden spoon. Add to a Tupperware and let it cool and firm up in the fridge.
