Vegan Thanksgiving Sandwich (Moist Maker)
The OVER THE TOP VEGAN Thanksgiving Sandwich featuring a GRAVY soaked slice of bread in the middle, AKA the MOIST MAKER, but VEGAN!

Admittedly, I didn’t watch Friends when it was on. I was a teenager and too cool for mainstream TV, especially about a bunch of old people (folks in their 20s were old to me back then).
So when I started doing Thee Burger Dude, I posted a Vegan Thanksgiving sandwich that was basically this, but without the gravy soaked sliced of bread in the middle, and a few people said “Oh, it’s almost like the Moist Maker!” to which I went, “Gross, the what?” and then googled it and went “Ohhhh, okay yeah I gotta make that!” And so here we are!

why you’ll love a vegan moist maker
This is by far, one of the most indulgent and over the top sandwiches there is. It really does feel like you’re eating an entire holiday dinner in each bite, and that’s because you are!
It’s a hefty sandwich too, I typically split it or save half for later!
ingredients for a vegan moist maker
For the bread, I would stay away from anything flimsy, like a typical white bread such as Wonder Bread. I like using the thick cut style white bread, usually it’s called Artesano or something like that. Sourdough is a great option too!
You can toast the bread if you like, but soft fillings do better with soft bread so you don’t squeeze them all out as you bite down. You can also wrap the sandwich to keep the fillings from falling out as I did below. In my experience a sturdy sourdough doesn’t need toasting.

I have recipes for every other component of the Moist Maker, but use whatever you have at your disposal!

How to make a vegan moist maker
This is quite easy, the most important tip is to use restraint so the sandwich isn’t too dang big!!
First start with some vegan mayo. Even though this is a moist sandwich, I like adding a layer of mayo (leave it out if you wanna though).

Next we’ll do a layer of mashed potatoes, followed by stuffing.

Then the namesake, the gravy soaked middle piece of bread, the Moist Maker!

Then vegan turkey. And lastly spread some cranberry sauce on the top piece of bread.

Now unhinge your jaw and dig in!

here’s a HANDY DANDY video!

Vegan Thanksgiving Sandwich (Moist Maker)
Ingredients
- 3 slices Bread
- 2 – 3 Tbsp Vegan Mayo
- 1/3 cup Mashed Potatoes
- 1/3 cup Stuffing
- 4 oz. Vegan Turkey Slices
- 1/3 cup Cranberry Sauce
- 1/3 cup Gravy
Instructions
- Toast your bread if desired. Then spread the vegan mayo on the bottom piece.
- For all the fixings, feel free to add or subtract as much as you'd like. I found that somewhere between 1/3 to 1/2 cup for most of them was plenty.
- Add the mashed potatoes and then the stuffing.
- Dip a piece of bread into the gravy and cover it totally, add it on top of the stuffing. Next add the turkey, and spread the cranberry sauce on the top piece of bread. Crown your sandwich, unhinge your jaw and dig in!
- You can cut this in half and share it (it's quite large) or wrap it so the fillings don't fall out.

Awesome, glad you found it too!
Hello! Why did you change the mashed potatoes recipe? The one you made on the video and the one listed on this recipe is different. It was glorious with the vegan cream cheese! Is it possible to put it back? I loved it so much haha. Otherwise I will just watch your YouTube video for the instructions.
Oh hi, I sometimes update recipes if I come up with something I like better, and it looks like you could just sub half the butter for cream cheese and that would do it! I’m trying to make the recipes as accessible as possible and I know not everyone has access to vegan cream cheese so that might’ve been why, thank you, hope you enjoy!
