Vegan Nashville Hot Chicken
This Vegan Nashville Hot Chicken delivers all the HEAT and CRUNCHINESS of the original, and it’s all PLANT BASED!

This Vegan Nashville Hot Chicken has all the SPICE and HEAT of the non-vegan versions I used to eat. But one thing I’ve noticed is after wolfing it down, I don’t feel nearly as heavy or lethargic as I did after eating chicken. Not sure why since it’s deep fried but I’ll take the win when I can!

Ingredients for vegan nashville hot chicken
- The “Chicken” – You have a bunch of options for the Vegan Chicken. You can use any store-bought Vegan Chicken you like. In fact, I often make this by letting some Gardein Chick’n Strips thaw, and then forming them into patties. Or make my Grilled Tofu Filets.

- Dredging Station – For the dredging / breading, we’ll be using some pretty traditional ingredients like seasoned flour, and we’ll make a Vegan Buttermilk for the wet dredge.
- Nashville Hot Seasoning – for the seasoning, we’ll employ a lot of Cayenne! You can also find pre-made Nashville Hot Seasoning at the store too!

How To Make vegan nashville hot chicken
First prepare the vegan chicken. I will often use store-bought like the Gardein Chick’n Strips. I’ll let them thaw, and then form them into patties. Or, you can use my Grilled Tofu Filets recipe too.
Next, prepare the Nashville Hot Seasoning by whisking it all together.

Prepare the dredging stations by adding and whisking the ingredients for the Dry and Wet Dredge in 2 separate bowls respectively.
Add about 2 Tbsp of the Nashville Hot Seasoning to a large heat proof bowl (like a metal mixing bowl). A saucepan would work too!

Dredge your filet first in the wet mixture, then dry, and then repeat to double dredge, shaking off any excess flour and batter. Press the flour into the chick’n gently to ensure it sticks.
Place carefully in oil and let it fry until golden brown. Let it rest on a cooling rack.
Quickly but carefully, add some of the frying oil and add to the mixing bowl with the Nashville Hot Seasoning. Whisk to combine. You can either brush the chick’n with the sauce, or toss it in the bowl. The choice is yours! I personally prefer to dunk the Chick’n in the bowl, and using tongs to ensure total coverage.
Add some Raising Cane’s Sauce, Coleslaw and Pickles to a Toasted Bun along with the Nashville Hot Chick’n and enjoy!

Air Fryer Option
You can make my Air Fried Tofu and coat in the Nashville Sauce / Seasoning too!
