Vegan Creamy Jalapeño Sauce

Taco Bell’s Famous Creamy Jalapeño Sauce gets VEGANIZED! This sauce is SPICY, ZIPPY and TANGY as HECK!

Full disclosure, I’ve never had the Creamy Jalapeño Sauce from Taco Bell (update, I remember I have had it, I didn’t realize it was in the Chicken Quesadilla which I’ve made recently, and this is better!)

I’ve made this a few times over the past year or so, and I’ve refined it down to where I think it’s pretty much perfect! There are a few variables, such as how much brine and lime to add, because that varies from person to person. I like things TANGY so I tend to go heavy handed with the lime juice or citric acid. I recommend you add a little at a time until it tastes good to you!

I also suggest blending this up in a high speed blender like a Vitamix. When I used my immersion blender and bullet blender, it was still grainy. Don’t get me wrong, it was super good. But once I blitzed it in my blender, not only was it 1000 times better, but it was super creamy and emulsified. It’s worth cleaning up your blender I swear it!


  • Vegan Mayo – This is the base of the sauce and it’s pretty mandatory!
  • Seasonings – Well be using onion and garlic powder, smoked paprika and chipotle powder. These will amp up the flavor and add some nice smokiness and spice.
  • Jalapeños – The pickled variety will come in handy for this recipe. We’ll be using the brine that the peppers come in as well. That stuff is liquid gold, it can be used for so many things!
  • Salt – to taste as usual. Depending on the brine in your jalapeños you may need more or less.
  • Lime Juice / Citric Acid – Now I like things tangy, so I added 1/4 tsp of citric acid to mine. Go ahead and add some to yours after blending it up if you wanna, but go easy on the stuff, it’s strong! You can also use lime juice, but the more you add, the thinner the sauce will become.
  • Vegan Sour Cream – I’ve recently been making this again and I started adding about 2 – 4 Tbsp of vegan sour cream and I’m digging it! It’s not necessary but it does make it a little creamier!


This sauce will last for about 4-6 days, but let’s be honest, you’re gonna want to eat it all before then! You can use it on one of the recipes below! I highly suggest making a Vegan Chicken Quesadilla with it!

  • 1 cup vegan mayo
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp chipotle powder
  • 2 Tbsp pickled jalapeño brine
  • 2 Tbsp pickled jalapeños more to taste
  • Salt to taste
  • Lime juice or citric acid to taste just a pinch!
  • 2 – 4 Tbsp vegan sour cream optional


  • 1. Add everything to a high speed blender and blitz until smooth and creamy. Seriously, it will be better in a high speed blender so use one if you got it. Store in the fridge and enjoy in 4-6 days.

  1. I’m not sure why I haven’t left a comment about this recipe until now. It’s a winner and deserves more love (I mean, I am yet to try a Burg Dude recipe that hasn’t worked…).

    I wouldn’t know if it is likely to last the 3-5 days that it should. The batch usually lasts the evening it’s made. Is it acceptable for two people to consume a cup of mayo in one sitting?

    Anyway, it’s Valentine’s Day and I’ll be whipping up a batch of this!

    1. Hi, that’s a great idea, so glad you liked it! I would maybe try my tofu grilled chicken with the taco seasoning in a quesadilla, that could work!
