Vegan Double Del Cheeseburger

Ingredients
  

Double del Burger

  • Two 3 oz patties of plant-based meat
  • 2 slices vegan cheese
  • Shredded iceberg lettuce
  • Tomato slices
  • Diced onion
  • 1 sesame seed bun
  • Taco Seasoning
  • Vegan Bacon optional

Secret Sauce

Instructions
 

  • To make the Secret Sauce, combine everything in a bowl. Taste and adjust. Store in the fridge for up to 5 days.
  • Prep your veggies, shred lettuce, slice tomato, and chop your onions.
  • Grill buns in a bit of oil or vegan butter until golden brown. Set aside. ⁣⁣⁣
  • Press / form your burger patties so they match the circumference of your buns. Then over medium high heat, grill on each side for 3-4 minutes. ⁣⁣⁣Season with taco seasoning of choice.
  • After you flip the patties, add a slice of cheese to each one and cover with a melting dome after adding a tablespoon of water to pan. The steam from the water will help melt the cheese.
  • Once Cheese is melted, assemble as follows; bottom bun, Secret Sauce, lettuce, tomato, onion, both patties with melted cheese, more sauce, top bun.⁣⁣⁣
  • ENJOY!⁣⁣

Notes

*You can use citric acid or lime juice instead of lactic acid. Just be aware that citric acid is much more powerful so use less. On the flipside, lime juice is more mellow, so you'll want to use more, however the more lime juice you use, the thinner the sauce will be. Always adjust to taste!
