Taco Seasoning

I’ve used this Taco Seasoning on everything from Tacos (duh), burritos, burgers, it’s honestly good on just about anything!

Look, I know it’s easy to just use some store bought taco seasoning, I do it too! But I always try to have a jar of this stuff stocked in the pantry as it’s way more flavorful!

This is a super simple seasoning from my Cookbook, and I’m adding to my blog just for safekeeping since I have a few recipes that could benefit from it, and I plan on making a whole bunch more!

In fact, it’s the star of the show in my Tofu Taco Meat!

Ingredients for Taco Seasoning

  • Chili Powder – This isn’t like chile powder like cayenne, but rather a seasoning blend usually used in…chili! It’s a mix of dry chiles, cumin, garlic powder. There’s also Dark Chili Powder that is more chile forward with a deeper flavor.
  • Chipotle Powder – Add this for some heat!
  • Citric Acid – Add this for some TANG! It’s basically like putting lime in the seasoning without getting it wet!
  • The rest of the ingredients I would say are pretty mandatory, but luckily they are all fairly common (at least in the US).

How to make Taco Seasoning

This couldn’t be easier! Simply combine all the ingredients in a jar or seasoning shaker! No need to blend this one up either.

Storage

Store in a jar, seasoning shaker, etc and use within 3 months.

  1. what can I say? this spice mixture is simply addictive! From now on it will always be on the dining table next to the Buldak. Not just for taco and burrito. Use it on fries. Use it for burgers. Use it where you want. And whatever you do, don’t leave out the citric acid. that brings the special kick in the mouth. Great!

  2. It was good but I expected it to have a stronger more distinct taste. Great with TVP tho expecially paired with Pico de Gallo, Guacamole, Nopalitos, Habanero hot sauce, Salsa picante and sour cream (vegan of course).
I love you the burger dude

    1. Sorry to hear that, you can always add more of any spices that you like to get it to where you like it, thank you!
