Taco Seasoning

I’ve used this Taco Seasoning on everything from Tacos (duh), burritos, breakfast scrambles, sandwiches, burgers, it honestly is good on just about anything!
Look, I know it’s easy to just use some store bought taco seasoning, I do it too! I have like 3 different kinds right now! But whenever I get the gumption to whip this up, I’m always glad I did. While it may not be as convenient as the pre-made stuff, it’s way more flavorful, and we can adjust everything to our tastes!
This is a super simple seasoning from my Cookbook, and I’m adding to my blog just for safekeeping since I have a few recipes that could benefit from it, and I plan on making a whole bunch more!
Ingredients
- Chili Powder – This isn’t like chile powder like cayenne, but rather a seasoning blend usually used in…chili!
- Chipotle Powder – Add this for some heat!
- Citric Acid – Add this for some TANG! It’s basically like putting lime in the seasoning without getting it wet!
- The rest of the ingredients I would say are pretty mandatory, but luckily they are all fairly common (at least in the US).
Storage
Store in a jar, seasoning shaker, etc and use within 3 months.

what can I say? this spice mixture is simply addictive! From now on it will always be on the dining table next to the Buldak. Not just for taco and burrito. Use it on fries. Use it for burgers. Use it where you want. And whatever you do, don’t leave out the citric acid. that brings the special kick in the mouth. Great!
I literally just tried it on fries today for the first time and you are correct! Glad you dug it!
do you use pure chili powder or is it a blend with other spices in it?
Hi, I’ve updated the post with links to the chili powder I use, thanks!
